Prerequisite: None
Many students begin the course thinking that they are already good communicators and leave the course realising how much there is to learn. You will experience a safe group context in which communication is open. A spirit of co-operation is developed and personal experiences can be accepted and shared.
You will learn:
How to apply and practice some of the basic skills of counselling
How to address issues that may arise when treating clients
Lots of tips and ideas on how to help clients find their goals and how to listen and pick up on the story they are telling you
How counselling is a way of being with people rather than something which is done to people
More about yourself and how you can develop self awareness

Course comprises of 4 attendance days. Assessment is carried out during the course and a written assignment.
